French law is very strict about pool safety
You must remove the steps from the pool when you are not in attendance. If anyone, including your family, guests or even trespassers, climb the steps while unattended & drown you will be prosecuted. Similarly if you permit anyone to dive or jump into the pool and they are injured you will also be prosecuted.
LA BROSSE INFORMATION
The pool is 24 feet by 8 feet and about 4-5 feet deep. It is ABOVE GROUND so has no tiled pool surround.
Entrance is by steps (see picture) that are not practical
for some people with mobility restrictions.
As we are not there to supervise things could in theory go wrong.
If this should happen will not be able to get any repairs carried out instantly. (10 days quoted by French pool repairs!)
DO NOT PANIC! This has only happened once (damage by guests - standing on pipes and bursting them).
It is recommended you check chemical levels yourself before you swim (simple kit provided). You will also be responsible for removing leaves & bugs that drop in if you do not put the cover on (nets provided). Don’t leave it for the next guests.
Chemicals are provided to solve simple problems - phone me if you have any concerns. If you are there for 2 weeks you will need to add chemicals mid-visit. This is easy. THOUGH VERY RARE WE ACCEPT THAT PROBLEMS CAN OCCUR SO, LIKE ANY OTHER PROPERTY, WE CANNOT 100% GUARANTEE THE POOL. FOR THIS REASON THE COST OF LA BROSSE HAS BEEN FIXED LEVEL WITH SIMILAR SIZE PROPERTIES IN THE AREA NOT PROVIDING A POOL (i.e. we don’t charge you extra for the pool - it is a free bonus)
